I really don’t need anymore new clothes but then I walked into Klaxon Howl, it was the last day before they were closing their store and vintage was 15% off when I saw a vintage Headlight Railroad Engineers jacket from the 1950s.
The name originated from the light at the front of a train on the engine. Headlight made some incredible denim chore jackets for men they also made overalls and a vast list of workwear items.
I thought about this jacket every week for about 5 months and luck would have it that on the day that Klaxon Howl was moving I returned and it was still there.
I wear it as often as I can because I absolutely love putting it on. There’s so much history packed into every crease and button hole on this denim jacket that it oozes with history. I think I’ll pull it out of the closet and wear it again today. Just talking about it inspires me.
